Day 148: Protector

Protector

misery

clanks like devil’s bells

burning muscles

closing eyes

through puffed out face

joints bent and scorched

monster in the mirror

tired

so tired

fatigue overwhelms

long to give up

to sleep life away

to escape

without burden

without tears

satisfied

don’t want to complain

to be here

in this space

where the future is absent

where pain draws his dark curtain of dismay

my innocent woe

a stage for fear’s echoed speech

rescuer where stand you

with fading voice I beckon

I beg

listen to your angel bright

and whisper your presence

trace the edges of my existence

with your dancing fingers

send feather-light kisses

through bleeding indigo sky

caress me in every thought

as eyes to tender sunrise

serve as prince’s cradle

my protector

lance turned syringe

siphoning fully

the chamber of ache

from the caverns

of my withered

and broken

weeping soul

  1. Beautiful songs with powerful and moving words. Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. Sending a fairy of thoughts your way
caressing, enriching and taking away all the pain
and while you get pampered with all the warm vibes
    close close your eyes
    and feel those hugs :)

big hugs ..a sad but beautiful song

Hugs Sam… May pain and sadness move through rapidly like a wave that washes away all that is hurting and raw. Sending Love….RL

    • Thank you for those healing words. Visualizing the wave now. And sending you a wave of healing, too. Hugs Sea Sister. Sam :)

Am sending special sea-sister healing waves through cyber space today for you Sam. Your poem expresses such sensitivity and depth of feeling. You are feeling, and that is very important…what makes your good days soooo good will unfortunately make the not-so-good ones also very painful ~ it is part of being an empathic highly sensitive soul. Breathe deep, embrace best you can (and your best is good enough)…and let it flow flow flow. It’s all ok. Clarity will come and lentils will be magical again – I promise…
Much Love ~ Seasister Robyn Lee

    • I’m glad you were able to see the beauty through the pain. That is a gift that you certainly have. Even in my darkest hours, I try to remain hopeful, even through the tears and dark. Much love, Sam :)

thanks for this lovely poem, Sam…think i’m feeling melancholic and just taking in as much inspiration as i can from reading your posts…love the music, too :) :) feeling like i just wanna drown in your poetry right now…lol…i like to read and listen to music at the same time…:) :) it’s an escape…maybe “therapeutic” is a more appropriate term…:) :)

    • I am glad my poetry can help you in some way. I love the music. Many times I cannot post until I find the perfect music. Can take me up to two hours some days. But it has to fit how I’m feeling and feel healing to me, also. Very much an escape for me. I play the songs over and over after I post. Part of my routine. Sending you lots of love to lift the melancholy. :) Sam
